What only the panel does
In 1.0.1 these have no Atlas MCP tool. Do what the tools can, then give the user these steps. Where a step needs keyframes, say which layer and which property.
- Keyframe the map (spin a globe, pan, zoom): in the timeline,
ATLAS Map Root→ Effects → Centre Lon, Centre Lat, Scale (or Roll on a globe): set keys. The map itself moves on a raster Mercator / equirectangular map, a live vector globe, or a live vector Mercator / equirectangular map (see Map kinds: World or City, raster or vector, live or still). - Map tour: Camera → Tour → Move the map → pick pins → Keyframe the tour.
- Camera tour: Camera → Tour → Move the camera (or several
fly_tocalls). - Update map on its own (after keys set by hand or a tour): press Update map in the bar above the status line or beside Build Map. (
fly_toand Orbit a place run it themselves.) - Day, night and clouds: Style → Day, night and clouds → Render day, night and clouds (World maps; after the Root is keyframed).
- Terrain hillshade: Style → Terrain → Add terrain hillshade.
- Satellite imagery: Map tab → Raster base (raster maps), or Style → Satellite imagery → Add imagery backdrop.
- Textures, vignette, globe glow, halos, colours, fonts, country colours, depth, contours, elevation bands: Style tab sections, then Apply to comp (contours, bands and depth: tick them in the Map tab's Layers and Build Map).
- A live vector Mercator map: Map tab → Vector shapes → Live map: pans and zooms with the Map Root → Build Map.
- Layers beyond the default (rivers, states, graticule, depth…): Map tab → Layers, then Build Map.
- Bake to PNG sequence (a live globe or a still projection): Map tab → Playback → Bake to PNG sequence.
- Arcs rising into the air: Elements → Arcs or Hubs → Height (%) (with a tilted camera on a flat map).
- Spotlight: Elements → Areas and borders → Show as Spotlight.
- Range rings, callouts, street names by hand, points of interest, airports and ports labels, contour heights: Elements tab.
