Settings

Behind the gear at the end of the tab bar. In order:

• Attribution: Add a credit layer automatically (on), Position (Bottom right default, Bottom left, Top right, Top left), Size (Small, Normal, Large). Any comp holding OpenStreetMap-derived layers, imagery or terrain gets a locked ATLAS Attribution text layer with the credits ("© OpenStreetMap contributors · Imagery: NASA GIBS…"), in the style's text colour; it is removed when none remain. Natural Earth needs none. Off makes the credit your responsibility.
• Atlas MCP: Turn on Atlas MCP (off by default), Set up Atlas MCP in Claude (then Continue to Claude: Claude's desktop app opens its own Install screen for the bundled connector; click Install there), Copy setup for other AI apps (Claude Code's one line, or the JSON entry for other apps). • Performance: Fast, Balanced (default), Quality, Custom (Simplification, Auto detail, Live maps up to, Live warning above, Street map image, Terrain and imagery image, Street tiles per view, Terrain and imagery tiles, Place labels at most). Fast: coarser, Low live maps, 48 street tiles a view. Balanced: Low live maps, 2× street images, 64 tiles. Quality: finer, live to Medium, 3× street images, 144 tiles. A faster machine mostly speeds playback; build time is bounded by After Effects.
• Street map tiles: OpenFreeMap (online) (default; free, no key, cached) or Region file (offline) (a .pmtiles file of an area; Get a region file… shows the pmtiles extract command for the last City map).
• Tile cache: size, Cache folder (choose another drive or a shared studio folder), Cache limit (250 MB to 5 GB; 500 MB default), Refresh, Clear cache.
• Rendered images: images and sequences of a saved project live beside it (Atlas Images, Atlas Sequences; imported files in Atlas Data); an untitled project writes to Atlas's own folder until saved. Collect beside the project, and Delete N unused images / data files (press twice; cannot be undone).
• Place search: Online with Photon (default) or Bundled places only (offline) (about 7,300 bundled places).
• About: the Atlas Particles plug-in's version (or a warning when missing or too old), your licence or trial with Licence… (aescripts' licence window), Copy diagnostics (versions, licence, settings, the map, recent warnings and errors, to the clipboard and a text file; nothing is sent), and the third-party notices.
